BRIDGET ARNOLD - CERAMICS:   Introduction
BRIDGET ARNOLD

Bridget was born in Totnes and brought up living in Dartington where the influences of many living, practising artists were very strong due to Dartington Hall and the Pottery at Dartington.

After having her own family she went to do her Art and Design degree as a mature student. She completed this in 1997 specialising in Ceramics. Whilst at college, she helped her learning experience by working with a local Potter Tony Wood who introduced her to smoke firing.

Going on a course with Jane Perryman in Cambridge on smoke firing and hand building pottery further developed this interest. Since then she has developed her own unique style of decorating with resists and water etching.

Bridget sells at various outlets throughout the UK She is a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey, where her work can be seen in the shop. She has held several Ceramic residencies teaching in schools through Big Hand Little Hand .

Bridget has increasingly been involved with Arts Development in Devon.
